4/29/11: Indians vs. Tigers

Tigers.  Indians.  Division Rivals.  It’s time to get it on.

The Indians made short order of the Royals, sweeping them with a win last night, 8-2.  They look to keep their 10 game home winning streak alive tonight as they take on the Detroit Tigers.  A lot is on the line over the course of the next three days.  The Indians find themselves up 4 games in the central.  If they can find a way to continue their series sweeping ways they could potentially find themselves up 7 games by the weekends finale.  Only real point of note is that Travis Hafner is missing his second straight game tonight with right ankle inflammation.  Not sure what that’s all about, but it’s something to keep an eye on.  Apparently he had an MRI done today, but the results have not been revealed.  Hopefully it;s nothing major, he’s been on a tear.  Starting in his place will be Shelley Duncan.

It’s also a homecoming of sorts for Jhonny Peralta and Victor Martinez.  Hopefully the 52 fans in attendance will give them a warm reception this weekend.  They deserve it, especially Victor.

Here are tonight’s lineups.
