4/28/11: Indians vs. Royals

Thanks to the NFL Draft and my legendary NFL Mock Draft, I didn’t have a chance to recap last night’s Indians game.  All you really need to know is that Josh Tomlin was amazing and the Indians jumped all over the Royals in the first inning.  It was over after the first inning and by the time the game was over the Indians had secured a 7-2 victory.  The Tribe jumped out to a 5-0 lead and never looked back.  Unlike the night before this wasn’t a power surge.  The five runs were scored on a series of back-to-back-to-back-to-back etc… singles.  It was the ninth win in a row for the Indians and clinched them the series versus the Royals.  Tonight they’ll go for the sweep.

Fausto Carmona will look to bounce back from a terrible outing against the Twins as he takes on Kyle Davies.  Carlos Santana also returns to the lineup after getting a night off to re-examine what the hell he’s doing at the plate.  We’ll see how effective it either was or wasn’t.  The other Indian who had been scuffling was Shin-Soo Choo.  He turned in another solid hitting performance last night going 2 for 2.  In two days he’s raised his average to a whopping .239.  WOO! Progress!  Seriously though, he looks so much better at the plate.  Hopefully it rubs off on Santana.

And one last note… Congratulation to Bleacher Drummer and Cleveland Legend John Adams.  Last night’s game was his 3000th Indians game.  Over a span of 38 years, Adams has attended virtually every Indians game and beaten away on his bass drum at every important moment.  This is an incredible streak.  In all honesty, I’m jealous.  He’s seen and experienced so much over the past 38 years and in the process has become a legend.  Here’s to another awesome 38 years.
