4/13/11: Indians vs. Angels

Ok, so I screwed up yesterday and didn’t have a pregame post.  I blame myself for the loss and Dan Hearon pitching out of his mind.  I’m sorry.  But with these late games the lineups get released during that time when I’m driving home from work and eating dinner, so it’s hard to squeeze them in.  Anyways, it’s time for the Indians to start a new winning streak.  Tonight is very much a test of character for this young team.  Like I said last night, can they shake it off, come back out tonight, and keep this from turning into a tailspin of losses?  We’ll have to wait and see, but taking 2 of 3 from the Angels would be quite the accomplishment.

Winning tonight won’t be easy.  Ervin Santana is a quality pitcher capable of duplicating the performance of Dan Hearon.  Carlos Carrasco will have to do what he did his last time out and shut down the Angels lineup.  If he can do that and if the Indians can remain calm and give themselves opportunities to score runs they should win the game.  Of course, that’s easier said than done.  And if they can’t and they lose tonight, does that take me off the hook for last night’s loss?
