Indians Opening Day Lineup

The first pitch is just a few hours away.  Here is the lineup the Indians will go with today against Mark Buehrle and the White Sox.  I like what Acta has decided to do with leading off Brantley and splitting up the lefties Shin-Soo Choo and Travis Hafner with the switch hitting Carlos Santana.  Also, you have to love that our prized right handed power hitter who we received in the C.C. Sabathia trade is batting 8th ahead of Jack Hannahan… yikes.

Anyways, here’s the lineup…

  1. Michael Brantley, CF
  2. Asdrubal Cabrera, SS
  3. Shin-Soo Choo, RF
  4. Carlos Santana, C
  5. Travis Hafner, DH
  6. Orlando Cabrera, 2B
  7. Austin Kearns, LF
  8. Matt Laporta, 1B
  9. Jack Hannahan, 3B

Pitching for the Indians will be Fausto Carmona.

The White Sox will counter with:

  1. Juan Pierre, LF
  2. Gordon Beckham, 2B
  3. Adam Dunn, DH
  4. Paul Konerko, 1B
  5. Alex Rios, CF
  6. Carlos Quentin, RF
  7. A.J. Pierzynski, C
  8. Alexi Ramirez, SS
  9. Brent Morel, 3B

There’s a lot to like there and there’s a lot to worry about, but for the sake of Opening Day let’s all just enjoy the fact that the Indians are back.

It’s Tribe Time now!  WOO!
